Castle Medrash was built before the apocalyptic day came to pass; it was built by the humans as a gift to the dragonborn clan of Medrash. During the destruction of the apocalyptic day, many buildings from the old world were destroyed. But castle Medrash stood in defiance at crumbling, so it managed to withstand the destruction. To this date one of the only original buildings that still stands from the old world on the island of Krater.

Thanks to both the natural defences of its location and the help of natural defences and the help of the dragonborns and human soldiers, the castle was close to impregnable. It can be found to the north of Krater Island and stands on top of Mount Medrash? above the dragonborn rookery.

It was ruled by the dragonborns for many years after the apocalyptic day, until the dragonborn leader Heskan? accepted allegiance with King Edwin. After the kings mysterious death his daughter Princess Alexandria took charge, banishing the dragonborn from the castle believing they were responsible.
