Rhogar Medrash

Appearance

Rhogar is larger than the average dragonborn, standing at a height of 6'10" and weighing 328 lbs. Born during the 6th Moon of 478, he is 570 Moons old.

His hands and feet are strong, armed with fierce looking talonlike claws. Rhogar has a blunt snout, a strong brow, and distinctive frills at the cheek and ear. Behind his brow, is a crest of hornlike scales and his eyes are shades of gold.

His scales are the colour of rusting iron, they are very fine over most of his body, giving his skin a leathery texture, with regions of larger scales on his forearms, lower legs and feet, shoulders and thighs.

His belongings consist of, A big death blowing Greatsword and massive gun called a Blunderbuss. Both weapons deal a huge amount of damage. He also keeps with him a piece of navy blue cloth, with a rose embroidered on it. He also carries a small book with him, which he records all his memories and travels in.

Early Life

Rhogar was born during the 6th Moon of the Year 478, in the rookery in the dark caves beneath Castle Medrash. He was named Rhogar on his hatch day by King Edwin (a noble man in charge of the castle at the time). It didn't take long for the humans and the rest of the clan to realise that he was different, as he was taller and heavier than the average dragonborn.

He spent most of his time looking out for his younger brother Kriv, training him from the day he hatched to become a proud warrior. He later developed feelings towards a female dragonborn named Khelsey, their love grew intensley deep, and they were inseparable.

The Fracturing of the Clans

King Edwin was found dead in his bedchamber. Many of the humans blamed the dragonborn, particularly the King's only child, Princess Alexandria.

The clan leader, Heskan?, retired from office, feeling dishonoured that he had not been able to protect his friend Edwin. He appointed his then second in command, Rhogar, to take his place.

Rhogar ruled as leader with passion and honour, traits he has diplayed from the day he was hatched. He made it his main goal to teach the dragonborn to respect honour and protect the humans that they lived with.

Slowly the humans began to trust the dragonborn less and less, and blamed them for their grief. Princess Alexandria ordered Rohgar to keep the dragonborn from interacting with the humans, and banned all dragonborn from entering the castle.

This angered many of the Medrash clan, including Kriv. He urged the clan to take the castle by force and show that they were the more superior race. Rhogar, furious at his brothers embittered rhetoric, demanded Kriv stop this foolish nonsense or leave.

This brought tension between the two brothers and throughout the clan, eventually Kriv and many others left castle Medrash to form a clan of their own, the Thava Clan, named so after Kriv's Great Grandfather Thava, a mighty warrior from before the apolocalypse.

The Night of the Medrash Massacre

Throughout a year the new founded Thava clan, led by Kriv, tried to take the castle for their own but to no avail. The humans and the remains of the Medrash clan defended the castle easily under the leadership of Rhogar. Although no matter how many times Rhogar and his clan successfully defended the castle, it did not warm relations between him and Princess Alexandria.

On a calm summer morning Edwin's old advisor Ostran came to Rhogar with news. He had heard that Kriv and the Thava Clan had hired thousands of mercenaries and planned to attack the castle tonight, with an unbeatable force of superior numbers.

Rhogar said he would travel alone to their camp in the Athdar Forest, and speak with his brother. Ostran urged him to take the whole of Clan Medrash and destroy Clan Thava in a surprise premptive attack. Rhogar disagreed convinced that he alone could finally talk Kriv out of this madness.

They argued for hours, yet Rhogar remained stubborn. Khelsey pleaded him not to go on his own, and insisted he take at least half of the Medrash Clan with him for protection. Finally he agreed and promised he wouldn't leave her and that they would always be together in this life and the next.

Rhogar left the castle at midnight, with 50 of Clan Medrash's warriors. They travelled to the Thava clan's camp in the forest of Athdar to find that it had been abandoned for days. Suspecting treachery on the part of Ostran a furious Rhogar returned to the castle with extreme haste and ravenous hunger for revenge.

Upon leaving the forest his force was ambushed by hundreds of mercenaries. Rhogar and his warriors fought a brave and fierce battle, yet the tide was turning against them, soon Rhogar was the only dragonborn left alive against a handful of mercenaries. Rhogar fought valiently and killed them all winning the battle, yet at the cost of losing 50 of his finest warriors. Kriv and Clan Thava though were not amongst the dead, fearing for Khelsey and the rest left at the castle Rhogar returned there as quickly as possible.

Once he arrived back at the castle, it had already been sacked. The castle was in flames, he searched around for any survivors but there were none. It looked as though the humans were taken prisoner and betrayed as their bow strings had been cut, most likely by the traitor Ostran. He did notice however that not all the dragonborns were dead. Some had been turned to stone under a magic spell, no doubt performed by Ostran.

If only he had gone by himself there would have been enough dragonborn left in the castle to effectivley defend it, he knew all along he should have gone alone. He swore he would never rely on others again.

Finally after searcing he found his beloved Khelsey, frozen in stone. He let out a defening roar and collapsed next to his love. After some time it began to rain and the fires soon died down. Rhogar decided to leave the ruined castle, and save the captive humans and finally have his revenge on Ostran and Kriv.

Searching

After a year and a half of searching, Rhogar still had no luck finding any trace of Ostran, Kriv, or Clan Thava. He began to realise that he wasn't strong enough to find them on his own, but was still far too proud to ask for help.

Eventually admitting defeat he finally found himself in the port of Bangeers, where he now sits in the Salty Wench Inn. He stands in a dark corner, where all you can see is the glow of his golden eyes. He stands as a guard you could say, looking out for the innocent.

With being too proud less of an issue, he waits patiently for some help to arrive so he can have his revenge and save his beloved Khelsey.
